Grandpa Would Give Us the Last Message

April 2nd, 2017 was the day my sister and I visited my sister Spiritualist church, Golden Gate Spiritualist Church in San Francisco, California. The church looks like an old Victorian house in an area of Frisco that seems unlikely to house a church. I should have taken pictures inside of the church but did not for respect of the church. The inside was BEAUTIFUL. Spirit paintings filled up the walls of the church up and down stairs. Spirit Paintings are created during a seance. Spirit creates the image, it’s amazing because it occurs while the picture is covered. There is never any evidence of brush strokes, just a clear picture mostly of Spirit Guides from the founder, Reverend Florence Becker.

The beginning of any Spiritualist church starts off with a healing service. This service was performed in a room adjacent to the main room and it was filled with so much loving energy.  After the healing service a short sermon was presented from the Reverend and a pianist played soft background and hymnal music. This day a guest Spiritualist medium from Great Britain, Pauline Mason, serviced the church and presented spirit greetings (short spiritual messages).

I was drawn to come this particular day but couldn’t really tell you why. I was hoping to hear from my Grandmother but instead we heard from her other half. Pauline had stated that she was finishing up the last of her messages when she said a Spirit was coming through and identified itself as being someone who used crutches in their life. My sister and I raised both of our hands up realizing that it was our Grandfather who was coming in. He was physically disabled his entire life but he never let it stop him. He was a prideful man which is another characteristic that she brought up of his Spirit. The overall message that he wanted to convey was that he wanted to thank us for helping him in his later years and that he was still with us, guiding us down the right path in our journeys. It brought major comfort and validation that we were meant to be at this particular service.

If you’re in the Bay Area of California or not far from it I highly suggest you visit the Golden Gate Spiritualist Church . I am almost done with my certification process in gaining the title of a certified Spiritualist medium; another post for another time, but if interested I will be posting about the process soon.

The Ideal Relationship Between an Atheist & Spiritualist

Is this a joke? It could possibly be but for the most part it isn’t. This is the perfect definition of opposites attract right? Yeah, but do you wanna know the secret that allows us (him and I) to maintain a loving relationship without offending one another? If this is interesting to you please continue reading to find the top 3 ideals to maintaining an opposites attract “healthy relationship” that I have learned to know.

Respect.

Respect creates boundaries and that’s salient to maintaining a relationship. Loving each other enough to support each other despite perspectives of our outside world is almost EVERYTHING. Another paramount point to mention is…. wait for it, just wait for it…

Non-Conversion.

We cannot try to “fix” one another in the way we think we both should perceive the world. That’s not LOVE that’s domination and control. Love is about accepting others for who and what they are and stand for, which ties into the final ideal….

Love.

Love is without saying you’re sorry, isn’t that the saying? Well, in parts it’s true. Love isn’t about right or wrong it’s about support, encouragement, and growth… really.

The article entitled, Atheists can be spiritual too explains how the two can be joined in a different but similar view to this post. All in all, these three ideals are needed not just for a relationship between an atheist and a spiritualist but all relationships.

Visit from Papa

Sometimes when we dream we dream of loved ones who have since passed. Sometimes those dreams feel so real, just like a real interaction, and most of the time they are.

My Papa was actually my Great Uncle, but he’s always been my Papa ever since I can remember despite that fact I had a wonderful grandfather, his brother-in-law. Hopefully I haven’t confused you… but growing up my sister and I would travel to Reno, NV to spend the summers with our Grannie & Papa and he would always give us talks of wisdom about life, the importance of education, and money management to name a few; ultimately he was preparing us for adulthood. Unfortunately he passed away when I was 12 so I’ve always felt like I needed his guidance, yet he has never left me.

When I was around 15 or 16 I had a very very vivid dream of him. I was in an open field of waving green tall grass. The air was perfect, nice with a comfortable breeze when I smelled the scent of his cologne. His scent was very specific. I turned around to find him right by my side. He spoke to me with urgency and sorrow. He kept repeating that  “it was unfair, it was unfair but everything will be okay, this will make you stronger”, like he was preparing me for something, warning me about something to come. Not long after my mother had her first manic episode that I could actually remember and the roles changed from adult to child to child to adult; I had to grow up quick and make sure that my mom had the proper care she needed. He was right.

Papa doesn’t visit often but when he does he always has a message to gift me so it didn’t necessarily surprise me when he found me again last night.

In my dream I was walking within a busy strip mall trying to find coffee when I came across this house with an older man sitting on the porch. I felt drawn to the house although I did not recognize it, I followed my instinct and it led me to my Papa. He turned around and said, “I’ve been waiting for you”. I felt excited to see him because I miss him, naturally. I asked him what he meant and he told me it was time for me to know…

My Grannie was one of my favorite people, beside my grandmother (her sister) because she was so fashionable, so entertaining, just someone I resonated with. When she passed it was sad naturally but it was even sadder because she suffered from dementia before she passed. It had gotten to the point that I stopped visiting her in the convalescent home she resided in after suffering a stroke because it broke my heart seeing her in the condition she was in. Anyways, this is what my Papa wanted to talk to me about….. he explained that the reason why I haven’t been visited by her was because the state of mind that she was in when she passed made her believed that myself along with her family  had abandoned her before she passed and that she’s still in that state of mind in spirit. It’s interesting that he would tell me this, the day of her sister’s funeral…..

I initially brushed this off as just a dream until I had a conversation with one of my co-workers this morning. He, we’ll call him Mr. Suave, comes and chats with me from time to time and this morning he talked me to me about his family and in particular his Uncle Rick. When he described his uncle, the resemblance of character was identical to my Papa who in reality was my great-uncle, I knew then this wasn’t a dream but an actual visit!

Spirit communication during the time the body sleeps is not uncommon because it’s an active time for the mind to be awake, for the soul to listen and understand. Some people will read this and think it’s all part of my subconscious mind playing itself out but spiritually grounded people will understand and appreciate this truth I present.

Combining Spiritualism & Metaphysics for Counseling and Healing

Throughout my life I always felt different and separated from the mainstream of society. I never conformed because it just never felt like it was something for me to do. When I was 23 year young I came across a Spiritualist church in the Sacramento area. I didn’t know what to expect but was open to the new experience. From the moment I stepped in the service I found a home I had been searching for. After a few months of attending I decided to join the church and began taking Mediumship courses under the Morris Pratt Institute educational courses. My goal was and is still to possess a certificate in Mediumship. Since I am a life learner certificates, diplomas, and degrees are always worthwhile to pursue. This course is not easy. I’ll talk about this process in another blog, I’m getting side tracked as I often do…. but yes, Spiritualists hold strong to their beliefs and do not believe in engaging in any other source than from Spirit for spiritual guidance. That means no tarot/oracle card readings, no palm readings, or astrological readings, because they DO NOT CONSTITUTE THE EXISTENCE OF LIFE AFTER DEATH. I can dig that.

A Spiritualist as defined by the National Spiritualist Association of Churches (NSAC) Spiritualism Defined as

“one who believes, as the basis of his or her religion, in the communication between this and the Spirit World by means of mediumship and who endeavors to mould his or her character and conduct in accordance with the highest teachings derived from such communication”.

This is what I believe, but it is not all that I accept as my truth. See, I never want to be set in one particular area because they’re so much more to learn. So much more to learn that I’m always hoping to learn truth that I feel resonates with my higher self. I didn’t have to search for too long before I was introduced to the subject of Metaphysics.

Metaphysics as defined by the University of Metaphysics (which I am a student of) states

“The word Metaphysics comes to us from Ancient Greece, a combination of two words: Meta meaning over or beyond and physics meaning the physical, material world.  Thus, the combination refers to such concerns that are beyond or transcend the material world. In the common way of speaking, such questions are considered religious, spiritual, or possibly philosophical, depending on the person asking them.Metaphysics contributes a fundamental level of understanding derived from experience and advanced intuitive knowing on how things “really are.” However, when considered from the spiritual perspective, Metaphysics is not only the pursuit of Truth; it also offers service to the greater good of humankind.”

Metaphysics on the contrary supports other instrumental tools for spirit communication because of the philosophy behind the instruments being used. Instruments as earlier described, palm reading, tarot/oracle reading, and etc.

So how can these two be combined to service others one might ask? Both constitute and demonstrate spiritual perspectives in how they serve others, yet one is more stringent than the other and neither one is better than the next it just really depends on the community and what the needs are in terms of spiritual needs. Like I said before, I need to have options and knowledge galore. I love both concepts and plan to incorporate both when I enter into the world of mental health counseling after graduation  some day in the future. I can see it happening, it will happen! That is called affirmative thinking, a metaphysical concept!

How to Manifest Your Dreams

I’ve been working with manifestations for a long time now, we all have, yet we wouldn’t necessarily call it manifestations. Many would call it an answer to their prayers, but I encourage you to look a bit more deeper and give yourself some credit. The Law of Attraction tells us that we attract what we emit, metaphysically and spiritually speaking. Continue reading the following and you too can understand and realize how to manifest your own dreams:

What is it that you really want?

Ambiguous, right? Yeah I know, there’s so many things in life we really want to do so it can be difficult to chose just one thing but you must. Deciding what you want is the first step in manifesting your dreams because it sets a specific desire and intention. I’m writing this as I’m needing to be reminded… so what it is that I want?

image

Being of service to others, spiritually, metaphysically, and theoretically as a future Mental Health Counselor and Spiritual Counselor, that’s what I want. I’ve been gifted with spiritual talents so that I can be of assistance to others who are lost, hopeless, and those who just need someone to believe in them. This is my life and soul mission, so how do I get there?

image

I’ve taken courses in mediumship through my church’s organization, which has been a very lengthy and informative process. Spiritualists require strict coursework, guidelines, and verifiable experiences in order to become accredited within the organization as a medium who serves within the NSAC (National Spiritualist Association of Churches). I also take metaphysical courses in specializing in Metaphysical Counseling with the University of Metaphysics, not to mention my grad school coursework of Mental Health Counseling. The message here is if you decide to reach out to someone who claims they are a spiritual advisor or counselor who claims they can read your future be weary. Ask to see credentials, it’s ok.

So here I am hoping intending to meet like minded individuals who are willing to help me along my path so that I can help others on their path too.

Believe you have what you want and live the life you want. Manifest and create.
